Our family-run bakery is on a mission to bring quality, sustainable, hand-rolled Montreal-style bagels packed with fillings that inspire and excite to the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas. With our main shop on the main drag in Uptown Waterloo and a second counter at Conestoga Mall, we're proud to serve our community with fresh bagels and a welcoming family spirit.

We roll every bagel by hand, and bake them fresh every day. We run on an oven-to-table motto. They're best eaten fresh, so grab a schmear and a bagel to go.

The Lox
We pack the salmon in. It's cold smoked, with red onion, crispy capers, pickles and dill. Ask for jalapeño schmear if you want it hot.
Wake and Bake
Fried egg, caramelized onions, tomato, spinach and cheddar, with a bacon schmear. It's our breakfast bagel.
Pick a bagel, pick a schmear
The Mama is any bagel with any schmear, so mix and match. Try a blueberry bagel with cinnamon brown sugar cream cheese.

Bagel Sleeves

Walk-ins and same day orders of bagel sleeves are limited to 6 bagels to preserve quantities in-store. If you would like to order more than 6 bagels in a sleeve or multiple sleeves, please call us at least 24-hours in advance, email us or DM us on instagram with your order and we will be happy to put your order together. Thank you!

Why is everything I’ve tried here so stinkin’ delicious?! An iced chai latte at the Conestoga location was such a sweet treat last week, and my new favourite order might the LOX (salmon, red onion, capers, and some sort of schmear I think) on a jalapeño cheddar bagel… goodness gracious. And the people who work here are genuinely SO NICE.

I had such a great experience with Poppy’s Bagels! There was a small mix-up with my order, but the manager, Ashley, went above and beyond to fix it. She was incredibly kind, professional, and truly cared about making things right. Ashley even took the time to personally drop off the correct order, which I really appreciated. As Australians in Waterloo we were tragically desperate for a decent coffee and were directed to Poppy’s. I can’t describe the joy of getting a strong flat white (1 1/2 shots) that would rival coffee served in Australia (sorry but we have the best 😁). Then we tried the bagels - outstanding! We went 4 mornings in a row for flat whites and bagels (sesame and the blueberry) with the brown sugar and cinnamon schmear - a taste sensation!

My breakfast at Poppy's was delicious. I had The Bonjour (Bagel breakfast sandwich with Egg & Turkey Patty) and an Oat Milk Cappuccino. The bagel was salty and delicious and the combination of flavours in the sandwich was delightful. I wouldn't change a thing - size, taste and texture was great.

Haven’t had a bagel in a while and this Montreal style was the best I’ve had, service was also very friendly. Fresh warm, fluffy and chewy, and packed with salmon which was appreciated baseline bagel eating is 9/10, this is the bench mark. Will try others soon Update 1: got the uncle buck and it was loaded, it’s like an Italian sandwich, the havarti was subtle but noticeable. And the dressing they used was very good. Not really into bacon though but there is a bit and still very good.
